Furniss Takes Trip Down Memory Lane with Launch of New Fudge
Award-winning Cornish biscuit company, Furniss of Cornwall, is turning back the clock with the launch of its new delicious range of fudge. The much-loved Cornish brand, which used to make confectionery 80 years ago, is going back to its roots to create three fabulous fudge flavours to Furniss' own special recipes.
It will be cooking up melt-in-the-mouth All Butter, Clotted Cream and Chocolate fudge. Fudge-oholics can choose from individual boxes of their favourite flavour, or for those having trouble deciding, a gift box packed with all three. Furniss biscuit fans will love the new fudge/biscuit combination box, meaning that they can have their cake (or fudge) and eat it!
Jane Flowerdew, Marketing Director at Furniss, said: "Our move into fudge is actually a step back in history as Furniss used to make all sorts of confectionary including humbugs, barley sugar and fudge many years ago. We've all got a bit of a sweet-tooth at Furniss and agreed that fudge was the natural extension to our biscuit range!
"At Furniss, we take provenance and tradition very seriously; we make our famous Cornish Fairings to a recipe dating back to 1886 and all our biscuits use the finest quality local ingredients wherever possible, including Cornish clotted cream and Cornish butter. We are taking a very traditional approach to our new fudge; it will be handmade, cut fudge using only the best ingredients, which we'll source locally wherever we can."
Furniss' new fudge range will be available from 1st February 2009 across the region. For more information about Furniss of Cornwall visit http://www.furniss-foods.co.uk/
